NASOLABIAL FOLDS + MARIONETTE LINES
Nasolabial Folds are deep folds that form along the line that runs from the nostril to the corner of the mouth. These folds are a normal part of facial anatomy, but with aging, skin laxity and collagen loss, they tend to become more bothersome with time. Not to be confused with “marionette lines”, which are the folds or deep wrinkles that form from the mouth corner to the jawline.
BENEFITS OF TREATMENT
The goal of our treatments is to soften the folds and wrinkles of the face, not necessarily eliminate them. Facial fillers with hyaluronic acid are effective at providing volume to improve folds and wrinkles of the lower face, especially nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
WHAT CAUSES THESE LINES?
Lower facial folds are caused by things usually out of our control — Aging, talking, gravity, loss of collagen and can’t forget about good old genetics! Factors out of our control are caused by environmental threats like UV rays, pollution and other exposures.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
Not everyone is always the right candidate for facial filler. And above all, realistic expectations are number one. If adding volume via filler will not help improve your outcomes, we may suggest other aesthetics modalities to meet your needs, such as Botox/Dysport treatments, Laser Genesis, or Radio Frequency Microneedling.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The muscle around the mouth is an active one, as we’re always using it throughout the day to do pretty much anything. This constant movement does cause filler (and other injectables) to metabolize more quickly. Generally speaking, lower face filler should last about one year.
